Discipline: Programme Management & NGO ManagementSummary of Work Experience: Currently Oxfam’s Associate Country Director (ACD) for Somalia, worked also a quite good number of years as Program Director (head of country sub-office) for Oxfam in Somaliland and has been working in the NGO sector for over 15 years. Among other organisations that I have cross-walked included CARE International, Save the Children... and of course Oxfam... assuming different roles (from Program Officer, to Program Coordinator, to Program Manager...to Program Director...to Country Director/or Associate Country Director). Prior coming to INGO main stream, I also served within civil society sector for number of years.Specialization: Through long service in the sector, My capacity and qualifications shaped more towards NGO Management as a Discipline, with specialisation on: Community Development (Program designing, Fundraising, Planning & Implementation); institutional Building & partnerships management; Governance, Policy & Practice; development practitioner in peace & conflict situations; strategic planning & facilitation of change processes; Scale up emergency relief interventions including cash programming. Has strong niche programming on pastoralism, DRR, Resilience & climate change.Education: Currently doing MSc in Poverty Reduction (Policy and Practice) from SOAS, University of London. Achieved MBA in 2006 from the Washington International University. Achieved Diploma on Public Administration in 2003 from the University of Fort Hare, South Africa. Another Diploma on Principles of Management in 1998 from the College of Professional Management,(UK). Diploma on Peace building, conflict management & Development, Hargeisa university 2009; plus various short courses on different related subjects.
