Somaïr Heap Leach Project Phase 3 is the extension of process infrastructure to give more capacity at depletion of actual pad. 2 years earthworks, kilometers of conveyors, thousands of square meters of geosynthetics and all pumping & command control facilities. It requires 3 years construction, +150 people, +25 Contractors… A real challenge in the middle of nowhere and in a Covid 19 context.

Since 1971 SOMAÏR, a subsidiary of AREVA has been mining several uranium deposits in North-Western Niger. The ore is mined in open pit from 50 to 70 meters. The Process is dynamic for high grade and heap leach process for low grade ore. Somaïr is certified ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001.Supports, organize and drive the projects from scope of work to commissioning, . The scope includes extension, modification or relocation of whole or part of: - Dynamic process and heap leach plant, ore process residues, settling ponds and all transportation and pumping facilities (conveyors, piping system…) - Pit head: offices, canteen, maintenance workshop and other facilities - Power plant - All other mine site facilities

Responsible of contract management from scope of work to commissioning at Al Bai'tha mine. - Write out Scope of works, manage bids technical evaluation and contract set-up - Monitoring the contractor’s progress and performance and consider necessary changes to conform to the contract requirements - Chair coordination meetings and safety meetings with Contractor- Receive and review the contractor’s reports of safety, production, labor and material employed. - Receive for approval RFI and work vouchers and invoices- Maintain good relations and communications with all involved in the contract- Insure that contractor enforces Company safety programs including the holding of toolbox and safety meetings.- Insure that contractor is fully executing and complying with his contracted scope of work- Identify any contractor non-compliance with safety, health, and environmental quality standards discuss issues and consider necessary changes to fix it- Provides the necessary expertise to the project progress and coaching teamsResponsible for blasting - Manage explosive delivery contract and ensure continuous inventory - Ensure blasting as per security and safety procedures- Manage blasting team- Coordinate with all department involved
