Working with EY Riyadh and Jeddah offices with their Tax Accounting and Risk Advisory Services (TARAS) teams under the Global Compliance and Reporting (GCR) function. TARAS team provide tax provision services to C2 and non-public C1 companies and assist in-house resources with the tax provisions and supporting calculations. TARAS works in close collaboration of tax, audit, and financial accounting advisory services of EY. My responsibilities include:▪ Preparing annual and quarterly Zakat and Income Tax provisions in collaboration with the audit department to ensure accuracy and compliance.▪ Deferred tax computation.▪ Preparing financial statement disclosures related to tax/zakat and deferred tax.▪ Advise and liaise with the client’s accounting department to prepare tax /zakat declarations and assisting in finalization of tax / zakat declaration including detailed schedules like provision and fixed asset schedules required in support thereof.▪ Informing clients of all current tax/zakat developments which might affect their tax/zakat position.

Worked at HBL (Head Office Karachi) as an ACCA Trainee (Internal Audit) and performed different audit assignments including:▪ Integrated Audit of Corporate, Commercial, and SME Borrowers: Collaborated with the Business Risk Review team to evaluate credit risk management and recommend process enhancements.▪ Audit of Personal and Auto Loans: Assessed compliance and efficiency in loan origination, servicing, and collections, identifying operational inefficiencies. ▪ Integrated Audit of the Treasury Department: Reviewed treasury operations and liquidity management with the Management Audit team, providing strategic recommendations.▪ Audit of the Low-Cost Housing Scheme: Evaluated program effectiveness and compliance, offering insights for improved operational efficiency.

▪ Working as audit trainee, I was involved in different audit engagements and assisting in planning and executing audits, documenting findings and preparing supporting working papers, collaborating with senior auditors to identify improvements, reviewing financial statements and internal controls for compliance. Notable clients were, BMA Assets Management Company, Bawany Sugar Mill, FAST National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences (Karachi Campus), Marcos Maintenance Services Private Limited, SAM Logistics Private Limited. ▪ Other tasks I performed were, preparation of financial statements for clients including, SAM Vaults (Pvt) Limited, Lean In Pakistan Foundation, NKC Fleet Management Services Private Ltd., Koshish Foundation, NKC (SMC-Private) Limited.
