Developed a new class of materials using DNA - Environmentally adaptive self-assembling materials• Developed a novel method for spatial and temporal control of DNA nanotubes assembly (a 50-fold improvement).• Created an environmentally adaptive process for assembling DNA nanotubes interconnects with high yield (>80%) between molecular landmarks, regardless of their relative orientation or separation distance.• Synthesized DNA nanotube superstructures with well-defined geometries that could serve as nanotube branching nodes. • Potential to solve important problems in nanotechnology like development of self-organizing nano-electronic/fluidic circuits without the need for lithography or complex active materials.

• Developed a membrane protein purification method to purify with higher yields (40%) than previously described methods involving renaturation techniques.• Synthesized human phospholipid scramblase protein mutants and demonstrated the significance of transmembrane domain for protein function using various biophysical and biochemical techniques.
