Protection & Control Design Engineer
CurrentMy key responsibilities as Protection & Control Design Engineer in NTDC includes:* Preparation of Technical Specifications & Bill of Quantities (BOQ) documents regarding Protection, Control, Metering, Monitoring & Automation system.* Preparation of Tender Documents, conducting technical evaluation of bids for Protection & Control System.* Preparation / Review of Protection System Base Design Documents.* Preparation / Review, Approval & Modification of Protection Detail Design Documents / AC & DC Schematic Drawings along-with witnessing of Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) & Site Acceptance Tests (SATs) / Commissioning Tests for Protection Relay Panels, Control Panels, SAS, Recording system & AC/DC Auxiliary Supply Panels for Medium to Extra High Voltage systems.* Calculation of Protection Relay Settings and configuration / parametrization of Protection Relays manufactured by renowned Manufacturers (SEL, GE, Alstom, Siemens, Schneider Electric, Hitachi Energy, ABB etc.) used for protection of utility’s transmission and distribution network for 500 kV, 220 kV, 132 kV & 11 kV Level.* Performing Protection System Co-ordination Studies using ASPEN OneLiner™ & Siemens PSS® CAPE to decide optimal set points for Distance and Overcurrent & Earth Fault protections.* Review & approval of Substation Automation System (SAS) Architecture / Concept Diagram and detailed design subject to compliance with latest Substation & Automation Specifications and IEC 61850, IEC 62439-3 PRP etc. standards.* Preparation of Project Progress Reports, Technical Reports and allied Documentations. * Analyzing the Trippings and System Outages to check whether the tripping was discriminated or Indiscriminate, review the implemented relay settings & configuration and propose remedial measures to eradicate unwanted trippings (if any).
