With two decades of consultancy expertise, I, Abdul Rasheed, have a proven track record in tackling complex marine projects, specializing in numerical modeling. My extensive background lies in coastal and near-shore hydrodynamic processes, showcasing a comprehensive understanding of numerical modeling for coastal water hydrodynamics.In my current role as the Principal Project Manager at COWI's Coastal and Hydraulic group in the Marine division, India, I oversee projects related to coastal structure design, including breakwaters, groynes, jetties, and shore protection, which also involves numerical modelling and estimation of design met-ocean condition for using as input for coastal design. Having completed the Project Management Advance course, I apply my knowledge to ensure timely task delivery, profitability, compliance with Quality Management System (QMS), and efficient resource management. I foster enduring client relationships beyond individual projects, contributing to recurring business opportunities and referrals.Leading a team of coastal engineers and numerical modellers, I conduct various studies in coastal and offshore design projects, covering hydrodynamics, waves, wind, morphology, water quality, harbor agitation, shoreline evolution, and wave runup characteristics etc. Coordinating projects across COWI offices, I supervise modelling team in diverse marine and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) projects.My expertise in numerical modeling encompasses establishing environmental design bases, met-ocean studies, statistical and extreme value analysis, shoreline change assessments, wave transformation studies, sediment transport, effluent dispersion, and cooling water recirculation studies. Proficient in 1D, 2D, and 3D numerical modeling tools like MIKE 21, MIKE3, LITPACK, I've contributed to the successful completion of numerous challenging projects
