 Assist the supervisor in the overall Planning and designing of different training programs Component of Roots of Peace Program. Provide the overall Organizational Planning process and design of an efficient training Planning system on Provincial or regional level. Organize and facilitated training of the Extension Officers both on technical as well as extension methodology and extension management related issues according to Training Plan for Field Staff Assist the program Director in managing the extension team in terms of implementation of training in the field. Provided and reviewed the training manuals for various trainings which were required to be given for Horticulture Extension officers. Assess training and development needs of field staff and provide appropriate induction and orientation, training, supervision, and support as required. Prepare and translate the training materials of pre- and post-harvest handling practices of different high value crops. Conduct different TOT trainings to ROP-CBARD, MAIL-CBARD, DAIL extension staff according to cropping calendars in targeted provinces. Assist the Extension Officers/field staff in: developing their training Work Plans; designing their schedule for visiting farmers based on a regular visiting pattern; and in training the farmers and the members of the farmers groups following the Crop Calendars and Training Calendar Supervise the field activities of all extension Officers based on the visiting schedule and the training plan of the Extension Officers. Developing trainees’ databases and assist the business development staff to link and arrange business to business meetings between the business firms and the local farmers in the target areas of program.  Assist the field staff to select and register the potential farmers in the target area, business firms of the program.

 Analyze the current situation of the horticulture sector (i.e., SWOT analysis) in project target provinces and propose strong and feasible recommendations to overcome the horticulture production, processing, and marketing challenges. Assist Horticulture Development Manager in developing annual program implementation plans. Implement and supervise project activities in the target areas in consultation with the local stakeholders and communities. Planning for establishment the High-density orchards, High tech green house, trellising for HDO orchards and grapes vineyard and facilitation the construction of Kishmish khana, Onion zero energy and Potato zero energy storage in the targeted area. Ensure that the project target is achieved within the project timeline and approved budget. In conjunction with the Agribusiness Development Manager and technical Team, assist in the identification of priority horticultural products to be supported under the project – and confirm the technical viability of promoting these crops in the identified provinces participating in the project. Identify the most appropriate technologies (structure designs, planting materials, small scale processing equipment etc.,) to be established on affiliated farmer properties. In coordination with the NGO facilitation partner, develop sub-project investment proposals and reports for recommendation to the sub-project evaluation committee approval.  Ensure the technical feasibility of the sub-projects for estimating financial returns on the investment. Facilitation the installation of trellis for HD orchards and grapes vineyard in the targeted area. Train the Horticulture development officers and orchard owners on appropriate horticultural techniques/technologies to improve the quality of high value crops and enhance productivity.  Develop work progress reports on weekly and monthly basis and submit directly to the Horticulture Development Manager; and,

 Provide technical training to DAIL, DAOs, DDA, CDCs and lead farmers regarding agricultural/horticultural practices, distributions of tools and other activities and support lead farmers in establishing CIGs, producing associations.  Providing technical guidance to the district extension workers, lead farmers, farmers and strengthening lead farmer’s capacity building to increase their knowledge in horticulture and greenhouses practices. Strengthening the linkage between lead farmers, extension, and private sector to leverage additional technical resources for horticultural extension service delivery.  Responsible for proper planning and efficient implementation of high value agricultural interventions of the project for beneficiaries. Establishment of New orchards in the CBARD-East targeted districts. Assist the provincial coordinator in technical planning and implementation management of high value horticulture interventions especially activities in targeted districts. Identify, assess and suggest activities, interventions and implementation methodologies for household economy improvement through high value agriculture farming. Identify effective investment points and opportunities for involvement of farmers in high value agricultural/horticulture interventions. Ensure proper coordination with MAIL, DAIL and other related projects working in the same area.  Assess technical capacity of extension officers, lead farmers and make proper capacity development plan. Utilize effective use of agricultural tools/equipment distributed to farmers and introduce precision farming technology, finance, and other postharvest and marketing tools for market growth. Generate success stories, videos, and reports from the field activities of farmers and completed and ongoing activities. Provide and submit timely and quality reports to the direct supervisor and project manager. Any other duties, tasks and responsibilities given by supervisor.

 Provide seasonal technical TOT training to NHLP Provincial and districts staff, DAIL Extension staff, DDA, CDCs and lead farmers regarding Horticultural practices, distributions of tools and other activities and support lead farmers in establishing CIGs.  Establishment of new and rehabilitation of existed orchards and train NHLP Field staff and Lead farmers on its management and pre and post-harvest practices.  Providing technical guidance to the district extension workers, lead farmers, farmers, and strengthening lead farmer’s capacity building to increase their knowledge in horticulture and greenhouses practices. Timely visit and follow up of project activities in the eastern region. Support the Regional coordinators in technical planning and implementation management of high-value horticulture interventions especially activities in targeted districts. Provide training and extension support to Extension Workers and Farmer Trainers under the Farmer Field School model Help and support NHLP to identify the most suitable and vulnerable households women and their engagement in the kitchen gardening production system in order to strengthen their home food production. Established strong coordination with MAIL, DAIL and other related active NGOs in the region.  Support lead-farmers/farmers, mobilizers, extension associates, construction activities involved in the value chain of high-value horticultural crops, toward economic independence. Utilize effective use of agricultural tools/equipment distributed to farmers and introduce precision farming technology, finance, and other postharvest and marketing tools for market growth. Provide and submit a monthly progress report to the direct supervisor and Horticulture manager

 Identify specific value chain business opportunities to pursue and prepare business plans. On selected business plans, working with their team to develop the production and processing technical assistance activities. Leading Agribusiness teams to implement activities to increase sales and create job opportunities.  Follow through with targeted businesses to enable them to succeed in increasing sales, market reach, or improve their services. Write up reports on the details and success of activities. Communicate activity descriptions and success stories to management and communications teams. Interact, coordinate, and liaise with other team members and operating units of IDEA-NEW

 Implement the Annual Activity Plan for the crops involved in the program,  Organize farmers registration and Vouchers distribution process in the field, Organize and manage a comprehensive technical assistance program, Train and manage a team of field technicians,  Prepare and deliver training courses, Identify and organize farmer groups. Facilitate, in collaboration with other team members the marketing of the different fruit crops, Provide Power point presentation to the Field Technician on orchard establishment and lay out, Pruning, fertilization, weeding, IPM, intercropping and other related topics to Orchard management. Deliver technical topics related with the establishment, management of the perennial crops and marketing of the fruits to the Radio show audience, Assess the current production of fruit saplings and forestry seedlings available in the region. Prepare in coordination with PH Senior Officer the training presentations on nursery management practices and deliver training sessions according to the needs of the Provincial Nursery Growers Associations (PNGAs). Organize in coordination with GME section and the PNGAs the planting and marketing of the citrus rootstock seed imported from Australia and South Africa. Introduce in coordination with the PH Senior Officer the sleeves production system for evergreen species, give special emphasis to the production of citrus and train the nurseries members in their use. Implement in coordination with the PH Senior Officer, the GME nurseries and the PNGAs the production plan of forestry species.  Follow up and monitor nursery activities. Assist Sr. PH officer / Sr. Technical Manager  All other duties as assigned by supervisor.

 Produce an annual work plan. Maintain direct communication and coordination of activities with the leaders of EFGA to agree on the activities to be implemented in collaboration with local farmers. Coordinate the annual assessment of production potential at farm level, as well as village aggregates to develop the annual harvest plan and the FMP support level strategy. Play a proactive role ensuring the quality and frequency in the provision of technical advice in topics related to fruit production and marketing. Coordinate, supervise and monitor the management of demonstration plots at the farm level (one for each of the most important crops in the village),  Assist in the implementation of field days at the demonstration plots according to the season’s crop management activities. Supervise the assistance to farmer groups in the identification of sites for the establishment of collection centers. Supervise the assistance to farmer groups in making logistical arrangements for the sale and collection/delivery of fruit. Participate at the training events organized by ALP/E Collect the information from field staff to produce in coordination with the immediate supervisor weekly progress reports, as well as weekly work plans
