Managing Architectural / Engineering Design for Buildings and Infrastructures

•Managing Multiple Engineering, Procurement & Construction contracts for residential, institutional and commercial buildings with Site Development & Infrastructure work including Stormwater drainage system, Potable & Fire Water distribution system, Wastewater disposal system, Roads, Pavement, Parking lots, light poles, Culverts, Retaining walls, Ramps, Grading plan, Detention pond and Detention pumping system, Storm Water Quality Management design, Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan, Sanitary lift station & Septic system, Landscaping, Electrical, and Telecommunication work etc.•Developing a complete contract document for Procurement and Construction including material specifications, material take-off, schedule of quantities, unit rate analysis, calculating project costs and engineering estimates, etc.•Managing subcontractors, conducting progress meetings and assuring quality construction using established QA procedures, implementing Lessons Learned and Best Practices, resolving conflicts among various team players etc. and ensuring timely completion.•Coordinating with concerned Local and State agencies for approval of engineering plans, inspection of construction work, and obtaining occupancy certificates, and utility connections•Conducting pre-bid meetings, bid evaluation, negotiation meetings, kick-off meetings, and responding to bidders queries during Procurement phase.•Interfacing with project personnel and managing constructability, safety, and quality issues. •Resolving contractual conflicts between stakeholders through persuasion, negotiation and amicable settlement. •Manage Lump Sum Turn Key and Cost Reimbursable contracts •Establishing a line of credit with standard suppliers of systems, equipment, and materials in business line•Preparing Proposals, Budget, schedule and mitigating interface issues•Managing and monitoring field rework during construction and pre-operational phases of the project

Bechtel is working on a mega projects in Saudi Arabia. This is the development of Jubail Industrial City which is one of the largest industrial cities in the world having an area larger than Singapore. Bechtel is Program Managers for this Port City and is involved in mega infrastructure and site development work, petrochemical industrial zone site preparation, highways, roads, bridges, airports, sea ports, pipeline corridors, all kinds of residential, commercial, educational, recreational and health care facilities, public welfare projects and Government buildings. My Job:•Managing Multiple Contracts for Hospitals, Clinics, Schools, Convention centers, Auditorium, High rise buildings, Government buildings, Warehouses, single and multiple family residential units, and heavy site development works including primary and secondary infrastructure.•Follow the Engineering Gate Process and coordinating with multiple internal and external customers and stake holders.•Conducting review meetings and assuring quality engineering using established QA procedures, •Implementing Lessons Learned and Best Practices, resolving conflicts and ensure timely completion within budget.•Resolve technical and cost related issues to selection of design features within discipline and with other departments.•Managing technical discussion with third parties to facilitate appropriate technical decisions.•Coordinating and providing support to other departments (Procurement, Construction and Project controls) during execution of these projects. Disposition of bidders’ queries etc..

Participated in 8th Five Year Plan of Pakistan as Private Sector representative for development of Housing and Construction Industry. Provided statistics for the contribution of Private sector in Housing and Construction Industry.

The committee was formed by the Prime Minister of Pakistan Mr. Nawaz Shareef, to prepare a comprehensive report for economic revival in Pakistan through reforms in Housing and Construction Industry. The committee comprised of more than fifty elite members from construction industry. The report was presented within record time of two weeks. The report aka "Tai Report" was eventually approved by the Federal cabinet and adopted for National Housing Policy.

Completed many highrise commercial and rersidential projects on Design-Build-Own-Transfer (DBOT) basis. Also completed many industrial buidlings and related infrastructure on EPC basis. My job responsibilities were •Business Development•Preparing Technical & Financial Proposals and Feasibility study for perspective Clients,•Land acquisition, •Managing Architectural and Engineering design •Approval & permitting, •Project and Construction management, •Marketing management and developing selling strategies for selling of residential and commercial units to prospective buyers.•Developing construction documents, finalizing subcontractors & suppliers, •Scheduling project work activities, •Interfacing with project personnel to ensure successful project completion and handover, •Participation in Competitive bidding•Organizing and conducting specialty working groups or workshops•Leadership position in industry organization.•Participating in national level meetings of professional societies and trade bodies.

Established long lasting relationship with various government functionaries and concerned departments. Formed various committees to resolve members’ problems through liaison with concerned authorities. Conducted regular meetings of executive committee to monitor performance & progress of each committee. Hi-lighted the issues of housing and construction industry through planned media campaigns such as press releases, press conferences, advertisements, articles, interviews, and attending forums etc. Successively achieved nomination of ABAD and recognition of Private Sector in all concerned national and international forums
