During my master's and PhD studies, I focused on the preparative chemistry, which involved organic synthesis followed by the complexation of various types of metals, such as the Lanthanides, alkaline-earth metals and transition metals, including the radioactive element Technetium. Working in the radioactive lab provided me with extensive knowledge in the field of radiation protection. I gained valuable experience in handling unsealed radioactive substances and acquired a comprehensive understanding of measurement technologies for assessing radioactive materials. This background led to my current position at the radiation protection centre at JLU. Additionallay, since August 2023 i have been also part of the team at the storage facility for chemical wastes at the JLU. Here we are responsible for collecting chemical and hazardous waste from JLU institutes and storing them to be then delivered for final disposal according to internal and international regulations. Thus, I can confidently state that my education as a chemist, coupled with my work experience, equipped me with the necessary skills to safely handle radioactive and hazardous materials. I have gained a through understanding of and proficiency in implementing all relevant procedures to guarantee the safety of individuals involved. On the other side, I worked with different types of devices and on many analytical methods as: X-ray diffractometer, IR-Spect, UV-Spect, Mass-Spect, NMR (nuclear magnetic resonance), EPR (electron paramagnetic resonance), preparative column chromatography, Ge (Li) and NaI detectors, methane flow counters, and LSC (Liquid Scintillation Counter).

  Since August 2020 I have been employed in the Radiation Protection Center of the Justus Liebig University. The Radiation Protection Group, which is part of the Safety and Environment Department, is responsible for:- Implementing radiation protection laws in all institutes and facilities of the University - Collecting radioactive waste from all radioactive labs at the university. - Providing advisory and measurement tasks for Labs, individuals, and related organizations.- Monitoring and documenting personal exposure Additionally, since August 2023, I have also taken a role of coordinator for the Internal Storage Facility for Hazardous Waste within the same department. The duties related to this facility include: - Collecting chemical and hazardous waste from JLU institutes and storing them befor arranging for final disposal. - Providing advisory services on handling hazardous substances including guidance on storage, transport, and disposal, in compliance with enviromental law hazardous substances regulations.
