    I developed a novel coating material for C/C composite for hypersonic flight application. Due to high speed, the leading edge material is subjected to enormous thermal load. Such aggressive heating can damage and ablate the control surface of the structural material (C/C). During my PhD, I designed and optimized a coating system made from refractory ceramic materials that could save the C/C from such damage and enhance safety during the flight. A US provisional patent application has been filed based on this technology with myself as the principal inventor.
