Assela Wind Farm The Assela Wind Farm Project (AWFP) is located in Hitosa Woreda, Arsi Zone of Oromiya Regional State, near Iteya Town, about 40 kilometers south of Adama City in Ethiopia. An EPC/t Construction agreement was signed between Ethiopian Electric Power and Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energies A/S of Denmark on April 30, 2020. The project was scheduled to commence in December 2020, The scope includes the engineering, design, and procurement of all project equipment, delivery of machinery and supplies, and construction of foundations and platforms for 29 wind turbine generators (WTGs). It also involves building 26 kilometers of roads, a 33/230 KV high voltage substation, a temporary office, an operations and maintenance building, and a control building. Additionally, it covers the installation of HV electromechanical equipment, 29 WTGs, connection of the HV substation to the grid, and testing and commissioning of all installations.
