Various methods can be used to test the security of the pipeline, including:Electrical Potential Measurements: This involves measuring the electrical potential difference between the pipeline and a reference electrode at various points along the pipeline. If the potential is within the desired range, it indicates effective cathodic protection.Close Interval Potential Survey (CIPS): This is a method of taking potential measurements at closely spaced intervals along the pipeline to create a comprehensive profile of the pipeline's condition.Direct Current Voltage Gradient (DCVG) Survey: This technique involves measuring the voltage gradient in the soil above the pipeline to detect areas with inadequate cathodic protection.Current Value for Protection:The ideal current value for effective cathodic protection varies based on factors such as the size, material, and soil conditions of the pipeline.
