I am a 11th grader at DPS Srinagar, I am a poet and a film enthusiast. At the age of eight, I started jotting down my observations and feelings during the 2016 lockdown in Kashmir. At the age of 12, in 2020, I got my first poetry book published titled “No Place for Good”, making me the youngest English poet of Kashmir.I love reading short stories by Hans Christian Anderson, Ruskin Bond, Mitch Albom, Premchand, Agha Shahid Ali and other similar authors. I started reviewing books and films at the age of 12 and reviewed Five People You Meet in Heaven, The Alchemist, Metamorphosis and Stranger in the Lifeboat to name a few. I have also earned the Counter Speech Fellowship (CSF) from Young Leaders for Active Citizenship (YLAC).Besides, I am also interested in filmmaking and photography and won a national-level film-making competition. My poems were published in an online literary magazine Indianculturalforum.com and I also got an opportunity to recite my poem at Pulitzer Centre’s Fighting Words open mic twice.I participated in Model United Nations (MUN) organised by the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar, besides three of my pictures were shortlisted for UNESCO International Youth Eyes on the Silk Roads Photo Contests (14-17 years old).
