Environmental Specialist
Current• Examine the existing legal, policy framework & institutional mandates relating to Environment and Climate Change. • Review key stakeholders' existing capacities and needs and conduct an institutional needs assessment.• Conduct an assessment to provide an overview analysis of the capacity strengths and weaknesses in the Ministry of Environment and to identify the main capacity gaps and demands by the Ministry.• Deal with environmental aspects of the project and provide feedback to the Ministry and PIU on implementing the environmental action plan under the project's activities. • Prepare policies, guidelines, and strategies related to Environment • Work as the Safeguards team to provide requirements of environmental compliance within the project.• Undertake environmental monitoring and supervision of project works, including developing monitoring checklists and compiling periodic (quarterly, semi-annual, and annual) progress reports to ensure compliance with relevant environmental requirements. • Undertake capacity development of the Ministry staff implementation concerning planning and implementation of environmental activities, including project awareness, communication, and sensitization activities. • Provide technical support to the Ministry in environmental and Natural resource management.• Perform any other tasks as the Ministry and the Project Coordinator requested.
