Abdullah is a Mechanical Engineer by education, and his unique background allows him to approach problems in the realm of cybersecurity from a different perspective. He firmly believes that cybersecurity is not merely a world of ones and zeros; it also encompasses mechanical aspects.Currently, Abdullah is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Industrial Engineering at the University of Stellenbosch. His main research areas are Sustainable Energy, Computational Fluid Dynamics, Rapid Product Development, and Advanced Manufacturing Techniques.In addition to his academic pursuits, Abdullah serves as the Executive Director of Mikrodev Southern Africa, an Industrial Automation Company. Mikrodev has expanded its scope to include a strong focus on cybersecurity. Abdullah plays a pivotal role in enhancing the company's cybersecurity infrastructure, ensuring the security of automation systems in various industries, including Smart City initiatives, Water Automation, Water Waste Management, Water Leak Detection, Energy Automation, and Security Automation, both in the public and private sectors. He is committed to creating cutting-edge, secure solutions that not only drive efficiency but also prioritize data and system protection.Abdullah's diverse skill set, which combines mechanical engineering and cybersecurity expertise, positions him as an invaluable contributor to the development of innovative and secure solutions for Safe and Smart Cities, while also setting new standards in product design and cybersecurity within the industry.
