Research project was based on the multi-objective optimization of a hybrid renewable energy system (HRES). The locations that were selected to develop the HRES were remote South Australian towns Nundaroo and Yalata.★ Key Responsibilities:o The main objective of this study was to determine the optimal capacity of a HRES based on multi-objective functions i.e. cost, emission rate, reliability etc.o This includes sizing of all hybrid system components with multiple configurations and determining which configuration not only minimizes the objective functions but also satisfies all design constraints that were defined in the HRES model.o A multi-objective particle swarm optimization (MOPSO) algorithm was used with constant/variable inertia and acceleration coefficients which involves predictive modelling and the concepts of pareto optimality.
