Developed and led initiatives to drive impactful progress in family planning (FP) and reproductive health (RH) across low and middle-income countries to serve women and girls with quality FP and RH information, services and products. Managed portfolios totaling over 30 grantees and partner organizations, and investment funds totaling +$79M.• Developed the evidence-based practices (EBP) and high impact practices (HIPs) vison and scale up strategy, created and managed +$20M investments with UNFPA and WHO to set global and country strategic FP/RH priorities, and address barriers to scale up of evidence-based practices, and drive impact.• Standardized measurements and indicators for HIPs and $4.9M investments that leveraged USAID $2M investments fostering alignment with USAID, WHO, UNFPA, FP2030 on HIPs scale up.• Led the collaboration with WHO, UNFPA, USAID, FP2030, FCDO, governments, and NGOs to develop a harmonized strategy which addressed barriers to scaling EBP and improved access to FP and SRHR services in underserved regions. Selected to lead the Global Health COVID-19 Sustained Crisis Response Team (SCRT), providing strategic leadership to shape the USAID preparedness and response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Coordinated preparedness and response across 69 countries, managed +60 grantees and partner organizations and +$249M investment funds. • Served as the key liaison between the Global Health staff and key stakeholders, serving as the co-chair of the US Government COVID-19 International Task Force coordinating the global response in collaboration with USCDC, DOD, State Department, Peace Corps, Health & Human Services Department. • Led the development, review, and revision of critical technical documents, influencing USAID’s strategy on infection prevention and control, diagnostics, risk communication, surveillance, and continuity of essential services during the pandemic to support the response.• Provided technical advice to USAID missions and headquarters on epidemiological, biological, and clinical studies to guide the overall COVID-19 preparedness and response.• Synthesized and evaluated COVID-19 situational intelligence and analytics including the use of evidence for decision-making and country’s prioritization, resource allocation, programming, management, and coordinating epidemiologic functions to ensure efficient and effective response.• Mobilized and led the global deployment of diagnostics, Covid-19 vaccine and 7K ventilators in collaboration with USAID bureaus and missions, the DOD and US National Security Council.

Provided technical guidance and leadership for program development, reviewing and coordinating epidemiological and biological research on contraceptive and multipurpose prevention technologies conducted through +80 USAID-supported grantees and partner organizations with a budget of $100M.• Served as the technical lead for clinical trials and other research including the ECHO trial ($50M) across 4 countries to ensure GCP. Developed the business case which guided USAID to invest in this trial.• Served as the grant manager of the WHO Grants providing technical and strategic leadership in collaboration with the WHO IBP, to share best practices and tools which supported FP/RH programs in multiple Asian and African countries.• Served as the Global Health Country Team Lead for Bangladesh and Nigeria, providing technical leadership in program design and as a member of Technical Evaluation Committees and proposals evaluations.• Served as technical advisor to DMPA-SC and Hormonal IUD donor consortium, leading the introduction in over 20 countries, increasing access to high quality FP services.

Led the Evidence to Action (E2A) Project research, monitoring, and evaluation activities to increase global support for the use of evidence-based best practices to improve family planning and reproductive health services access and quality within 15 countries in collaboration with +20 partner organizations.• Designed the evaluation methodologies and analytic frameworks for the SMGL and the LARCs service delivery program for youth in Ethiopia and implementation research on task-sharing for LARC provision in Nigeria, and MEL framework for different projects in +12 countries.• Conducted literature and systematic reviews on FP/RH best practices, contributing to global knowledge in FP/RH which informed program design and implementation while improving access to quality services.

Developed the monitoring, learning and evaluation strategy for the DFID/Nike partnership designed to unlock the power of adolescent girls in Ethiopia, Nigeria and Rwanda. Led the transformation to a learning environment for sharing best practices for girl-centered initiatives across +20 partner organizations with a total fund of +$50M. • Co-developed the technology-enabled girls ambassadors (TEGA) platform which empowers adolescent girls to conduct research within their communities, which led to self-sufficiency through job opportunities and drove insightful interventions for girl-centered initiatives in 7 countries.• Provided technical leadership on the design and evaluation of numerous girl-centered interventions including ENGINE (Educating Nigerian Girls in New Enterprises), Safe Space programs, Faith Leaders Interventions for Girls, and Girls-led Learning Journeys.• Served as the country director in the absence of the director.

Mentored and prepared residents to lead preparedness and response to public health emergencies and outbreaks including Ebola, Lassa Fever, Polio, Cholera response, and strengthened integrated disease surveillance and response, a two-year in-service Masters training program in the US CDC-funded, Nigeria Field Epidemiology & Laboratory Training Program.• Prepared and delivered lectures in Biostatistics, research methods, and epidemiology, providing essential guidance to future public health professionals in early detection and response to outbreaks including integrated disease surveillance and response.

Provided technical leadership to the Gates-funded Urban Reproductive Health Initiative (URHI) country programs in the areas of program monitoring, evaluation, learning and implementation research and publishing program efforts. Partnered with +50 organizations in Nigeria, Kenya, Senegal and India and a budget of $35M.• Developed URHI Joint MLE strategy, established functional health management information systems and MLE mechanisms including quality improvements for the private and public-sectors and translating data into highly effective programs. • Co-created the 72-hour makeover concept and e-health education platform which improved the capacity of service providers and quality in Nigeria and co-developed the public-private partnership strategy.

Provided technical leadership in HIV, TB, and Malaria MLE and translated research findings into highly effective programs. Served as the strategic advisor in the creation and implementation of LAMIS (an innovative patient monitoring and management EMR) and collaborated with government and +20 partner organizations.• Provided technical leadership in developing the LAMIS, MLE tools and DQA, fostering data-driven decision-making in HIV/AIDS, OVC, RH/FP, TB, Malaria, and ART pharmacovigilance.• Created and implemented the ARV dispensing task-shifting strategy which improved service delivery effectiveness, efficiency and adherence to treatment. • Established and led the multi-sites LAMIS evaluation group that analyzed data and translated findings into highly effective programs. • Co-developed the National protocol on HIV Drug Resistance study in collaboration with US CDC and WHO.

Selected to lead implementation research on cardiovascular diseases and HIV among youths funded by IRPA as a part of Malaysia’s overall strategy of sustainable development. Partnered with the ministries of health and education with a funding of +$1M.• Led research protocol development, implementation, and evaluation of HIV and cardiovascular disease prevention programs among youths which identified effective preventive national strategies. • Developed, coordinated and evaluated harm reduction programs among most at-risk populations (MARP), minimizing the negative effects of substance use on young people, their families, and peers.

Managed National Immunization Days (NIDs) and Sub-National Immunization Days (SNIDs), providing technical leadership in integrated disease surveillance and response and integrated child survival strategies and WPV and AFP surveillance and response, which improved vaccine uptake and contributed to polio eradication in Nigeria. A USAID funded COMPASS initiative.
