Abdul is the Global Head of Compliance, Health, Safety, Environment, Security & Supply Chain Security for Expolanka Freight (EFL), currently overseeing Supply Chain Security of EFL in 18+ countries. Considered one of the leading experts in supply chain security and C-TPAT compliance in the country, Abdul has attended several overseas industry forums including the Global AEO Conference by World Customs Organization (Mexico, 2016), the ICAO-WCO Conference on “Enhancing Air Cargo Security and Facilitation,” (Malaysia, 2016) and the C-TPAT Conference hosted by US Customs & Border Protection, (USA, 2017, 2018 & 2019). A certified trainer, Abdul has also trained 1000+ personnel across 10 countries towards C-TPAT compliance. Passionate about the environment, Abdul serves as the Country Manager for Earth Hour Sri Lanka, a global initiative that aims to generate greater interest in environmental advocacy. Abdul liaises closely with government officials, civil society & celebrity ambassadors including Odel’s Otara Gunewardene as well as Bathiya and Santhush, to raise awareness and inspire action on issues related to climate change, global warming and its impact on Sri Lanka. Abdul has been a Panelist & Speaker at several national and international environment forums including the “Western Province Climate Change Summit” by the Network of Regional Governments for Sustainable Development (Colombo, 2015) and at the “Green Freight Day,” 8th Regional Environmentally Sustainable Transport Forum in Asia (Colombo, 2014)Committed to mentoring and developing the next generation of the nation’s environmentally conscious leaders and entrepreneurs, Abdul devotes a large chunk of his time to engaging audiences across the country.
