Developed a Vendor furnished information (VFI) review process that reduced mechanical and structural integration issues and ensured satisfactory completion of engineering design deliverables.•Lead the functional design, detailed design, and integration of mission equipment systems such as the replenishment at sea (RAS) system and the helicopter traversing system.•Responsible for monitoring, tracking, and investigating functional design challenges and coordinating the concerned departments (naval architecture, mechanical, structures, and mission equipment) to ensure that issues are resolved.•Responsible for noise and vibration management plan, including detailed analysis for selection of resilient mounts for rotating machinery equipment.•Perform engineering calculations using empirical formulae from classification regulations as well as first principles.•Review and approve specifications and design documents to achieve customer, Classification Society, and regulatory approval.•Review and approval of equipment purchase specification schedules.•Pro-actively ensured that design tasks are conducted in partnership with other engineering disciplines and ensuring good communication of design interfaces with other teams.•Perform engineering studies and technical evaluation including report writing.•Monitoring vendor package technical review project status with attention to estimated budget, resource allocation, cost performance, and cost control.
