Working as a Project Lead to steer the Sustainable Energy for Pakistan (SEP)- USAID programme which is aimed at providing support to the GOP to increase the financially sustainable delivery of clean energy services to spur the economic and social development of the country.

Responsible for commercial as well as technical business operations

Adopting strategic process management role to select, manage and support multiple business projects that gives the Distribution best chance to operate in the most efficient and transparent environment through use of technology and its associate SAP ERP systems in KE. It employs designing controls for IT application landscape, support SAP application suite projects covering ERP, IS-U and CRM and re-engineering of processes with an aim to achieve efficiency in heterogeneous environment.As a head of the department, I am leading one of the key projects which is the implementation of Smart Grid in KE at a limited scale initially for 10,000 consumers and it is worth USD 5m. The broader scope of the project is to design, develop, install, integrate with K-Electric Existing Systems, Head Ends for Field Devices and implement the IT Platform that meets the Project Objectives and incorporates the Oracle MDM System, Oracle NMS, Oracle Smart Grid Gateway, Oracle BI and SAP AMI. It is mainly targeted to achieve objectives like Improved network planning , distribution network monitoring & management, Fault localization, Outage management, Reduction in T&D losses, Improve recovery, enhance customer satisfaction, provide platform for the development of pre-paid metering and make real-time base information through Bid data analytics. The project is in progress and is expected to go-live in mid of year 2017.

As a part of the senior management team, I am actively engaged in strategic planning aimed at restructuring of distribution part of the organization. Responsible to lead Distribution Operations employing Retailing, Customer care and 11 KV network operations for the consumer base that includes Residential, Commercial, Industrial and Government departments.Key job responsibilities include: With P&L responsibility, achieve the corporate targets comprising of reduction in line losses, improvement in cash recovery, reduction in Aggregate Technical & Commercial (AT&C) losses [a combination of ‘line losses’ and the ‘non-recovery of bills’] and ensuring uninterrupted electricity supplies to the consumers.  Strategic planning and oversight of distribution operations aimed at achieving performance benchmarks set by the regulatory body of NEPRA such as SAIDI and SAIFI. Maintenance and Operation of both 11KV and 0.4KV network that employs close monitoring of Feeders, Sub Stations, PMTs and other auxiliary equipment for break downs/outages with an aim to ensure optimum availability of the network with improved service quality. Design and implement strategies to control theft of electricity and safeguard company revenue by employing effective controls and implementing revenue protection programs. 

As a DGM, I have been managing sales, marketing and operations of both Aviation and Marine businesses having 65% and 90% industry market share, respectively with annual accumulative profits of more than US$ 10 million per annum. The scope of Aviation operations constitute aircraft refueling at nine airports all across the country with average annual Jet fuel sale of 450,000 MT mainly catering to the local and foreign airline customers besides defence forces. Annual sale of Marine POL products is over 185,000 MT, which include sale of Bunker Fuel Oil (BFO), Marine Diesel Oil (MDO) and Marine Gas Oil (MGO) to vessels calling at the ports of Karachi and Bin Qasim. Direct reporting HR strength comprises of more than 350 professionals.
