For me, making a difference didn't just mean helping patients. I saw Dental talents being wasted due to a lack of knowledge about the business side of dentistry. I'm Dr. Abe Gershonowicz. Back in 1978, I opened my first dental practice in Sterling Heights, Michigan. From the beginning, I realized that being a skilled dentist wasn't enough to grow my practice. I looked hard and long to find for me the answers to creating success for my dental practice and my patients. I finally found the needed pieces and started building my practice and my dental team, which made all the difference. After finding success, I expanded my single location itself to accommodate more and more patients until I had 13 offices running successfully. I had found the key formulas for dental office success and the when's and how's of expansion, and even how to choose the locations. As I progressed in my journey, I understood the importance of creating a Dental Assistant School to help supply the needs of my offices and help others as well. However, my passion for knowledge and ambition to make a difference led me to establish an Academy for Dentists and their staff. Our courses are applicable not only to dentistry but also to managing any business. They provide the necessary knowledge and skills to make one more responsible as a business person for their dental practice. I’ve observed true success in terms of management, organization, finances, sales, leadership, and finally, people as that is where the true importance is, people. Today, I offer them strategic advice, effective solutions, and proven methods based on the science of management and a lot of hard-won experience in working out the best solutions. These strategies have proven extremely effective in improving productivity, staff management, patient retention, and marketing for dental practices.
