We purchased and sold small underperforming companies and led 12-24 month turnarounds. Four turnarounds total in health insurance, cosmetics, financial education, and business consulting. During this time I developed a process I called the 7-Step Turnaround, which allowed us to manage finances early on, maximize operational efficiency (primarily to reduce churn), and create healthy customer acquisition systems.

An interactive whiteboard app used by 20 million+ students and teachers in K-12 education. This was my mentors company and I had a great time building it up with him/the team over the time I spent there.Experiencing what it was like running a venture-backed company and witnessing the scale potential of SaaS products blew my mind. I was fortunate to travel between NYC, San Diego, and Poland on a regular basis.I was also given a "flex" role which allowed me to be front and center to the most important problems the company needed to solve. A failing all-female gym in Fairfield, New Jersey. I took minority ownership and led the turnaround. We went from -$20k/month NET to +$20k/month NET in eight months. After getting cash flow back on track, we sold the business.

We helped prospective college students "find their fit" by turning boring college tours into red-carpet experiences modeled by the athletic recruiting experience.The company ultimately didn't work out but this is where I started developing the skill sets of customer acquisition and building sales processes.
