    • Led hypothesis-driven, chemotherapy resistance study. In this role, I was able to demonstrate strategic thinking by formulating research questions and link them to study designs to explore targetable molecules and their pathways in colon, melanoma and head & neck cancer, which led to a proposal and submission of over $ 1.25 million in NIH RO1 grant funding.• I have managed multiple projects with excellent project management and problem-solving skills. In this role, I was responsible for R&D sponsored projects (AbbVie oncology unite); developed and optimized IHC protocol and completed a systematic analysis of therapeutic bio-markers in more than 190 primary and metastatic colorectal cancer patient samples. • Evaluated potential therapeutic targets and their signaling pathways associated with the anti-tumor activity of small molecule drugs by using cell viability, proliferation, DNA damage, oxidative stress, senescence, apoptosis response on drug-sensitive and -resistance cancer cell lines.• Completed immunological staining of therapeutic targets in 20 melanoma, 27 head and neck squamous cell carcinoma HNSCC patient tissues.• Independently organized and maintained a molecular biology laboratory for over 2 years including monitoring chemicals, reagents, cleanliness, documentation; maintained budgets and negotiated supply costs; ensured the implementation of GLP, SOP regulations.• Collaborated with multidisciplinary teams, including pharmaceutical companies, clinicians and research scientist groups in a fast-paced research environment, contributed on a key project defining how cancer stem cell drive triple-negative breast cancer published on the scientific journal Nature Communication • Demonstrated excellent technical and problem‐solving skills by developing high throughput biochemical, molecular and cellular assays for the study of animal diseases ranging from genotyping to tissue pathological analysis.
  • National Institutes Of Health, National Cancer Institute (Nih/Nci).
Research Scientist, Cancer (Post-Doc), Biomarker Assay, Target Identification, Data Analsis.
National Institutes Of Health, National Cancer Institute (Nih/Nci). Nov 2006 - Mar 2011
    Bethesda, Md, Us
PROJECT: Exploring the molecular pathology of lung carcinogenesis and differentiation.• Identified a novel mechanism of the CDK5, P35, and HASH cell signaling pathways in the initiation and progression of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), leading to 2 peer-reviewed publications• Conceived and performed exploratory mouse model studies, including crossing and maintaining 6 colonies of transgenic mice, genotyping, injections, dissection, tissue processing, molecular histology of mouse diseases, immunohistochemistry, Laser capture microdissection (LCM), and data analysis• Worked in a dedicated and focused manner, preparing of 100 mouse DNA samples for genotyping in a week, performing of necropsies and tissue collection from 40 mice in a week, and stained 60 slides for histological diagnosis per week • Conceived and performed biochemical, molecular and cellular biology techniques including transfection, kinase assay, qPCR, migration, wound healing, immunofluorescence, co-immunoprecipitation to explore HASH signaling pathway responsible for the progression of lung cancer in vitro. • Effectively managed and controlled project budgets for 4 years
  • Sahlgrenska University Hospital
    Research Scientist, Cell Signaling Pathway.
Sahlgrenska University Hospital Oct 2004 - Oct 2006
    Göteborg, Västra Gotaland, Se
    • Developed study design and conducted cell-based assays for data collection, accomplished several molecular and biochemical research objectives that define apoptotic signaling pathways in thyroid primary cells, neuronal cell differentiation/proliferation.• Technical expertise: Cell-based assays; primary cell culture; DNA and RNA Isolation and purification; DNA fragmentation; Western blotting; SDS-Page; Immunofluorescence; Confocal microscopy; Fluorescence microscopy; measuring trans-epithelial resistance; Mitochondrial morphology; Cytotoxicity (CellTiterGlo, LDH and MTT).
  • Sahlgrenska University Hospital

    Göteborg, Västra Gotaland, Se
PROJECT: Understanding the apoptosis signaling pathway induced by oxidative stress and drugs in thyroid epithelial cells. The discoveries made in this project resulted in several awards and travel grants and 1 first authored peer-reviewed publication. Dissertation ISBN: 91-628-6249-9, Regulation of Apoptosis in the Thyroid Epithelium.• Skillfully performed cell-based assays using different approaches such as protein/DNA/RNA extractions, western blotting, cellular enzyme activity, and trans-epithelial electrical resistance measurements, immunofluorescent.• Developed study design and methods of data collection and analysis. Maintained detailed experimental records and laboratory notebook. • Presented weekly project progress reports at internal and external meetings, oral and poster presentations at national and international scientific meetings. Developed a genuine interest in and passion for oncology.
