🟣 I am a director of marketing with more than 15 years of experience developing strategy and inspiring high-performing teams to deliver results for brands across digital channels.🟣 My experiences in marketing communications cross disciplines, but strategic planning and content marketing are where I am most comfortable. I have spent the past seven years working at a large nonprofit association where I've done both member communications and B2B marketing for internal clients.🟣 When I was young, my mathematics-teacher parents fostered my sense of creativity and encouraged me to develop my artistic skills. I pursued degrees in English writing and rhetoric and integrated marketing communications because of my love for writing and communications.🟣 Even now, I nerd out over the English language and communications trends. I have watched TV just for the commercials. I am Oxford comma agnostic and embrace emojis 🙂 and txt speak. I love the power of language to change minds and behaviors and see marketing communications as a critical tool.🟣 I believe in the power of doing good. I am drawn to organizations with strong missions and those that support their employees with transparency, workplace flexibility, and a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.🟣 As a Black woman, I am interested in fighting for more diverse and inclusive workplaces and supporting the next generation of powerful women at work. That means representing when I can as well as holding up space for others to succeed.
