Chief Of Staff
As the principal adviser to the Chairman and manager of the PCAOB’s executive team, I led the day-to-day operations of 10 business units—comprised of more than 800 employees with a $274 million budget—that contribute to trusted audit oversight by a Board of Directors. During my tenure, I facilitated the transition of a new full-time Board with a new strategic plan that involved extensive public outreach. I designed an organization-wide assessment of all programs and activities intended to transform the PCAOB to be an innovative, responsive, and forward-looking regulator. I developed the PCAOB’s first-ever enterprise risk management office to include organizational risk and security strategies as well as reconstituted the PCAOB’s internal audit function by leading a review of internal audit’s charter, operations, and planning processes. Additionally, I established a new position of Chief Data Officer while overseeing the development of an organizational data management strategy. I also oversee the development and execution of the organization’s first human capital strategic plan.

I advised Board Member Franzel on all matters that came before the Board, including proposed auditing standards and research projects, investigations and adjudications, inspections of registered accounting firms, international cooperative agreements, research programs and other public reports regarding PCAOB activities. As Special Counsel, I coordinated with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, other regulators, and external stakeholders.
