Developing and constantly updating underwriting service standards and manuals in line with the customer service charter.3. Achieving branch service standards within set turnaround times.4. Managing the business portfolio through prudent underwriting in order to achieve the targeted business mix and loss ratio.5. Implementing the company’s credit policy as per the set guidelines.6. Managing the implementation of internal and external audit and risk recommendations within the agreed timelines.7. Exploring opportunities presented by the market and to guide the company in developing innovative products and solutions that respond to customer needs.8. Supervising unit managers to ensure sales activities are undertaken regularly to ensure optimal performance of all units.9. 1. Recruiting, Training and Capacity building of Unit Management teams within General Retail propositions.2.As Business Lead, manage identified key relationships between the company and customers in the entire Rift Valley region i.e. product development, underwriting, risk assessment, coordination for regulatory approvals, product testing, claims inter-mediation and overall service level to agents and clients.3. Effectively manage relationships with key strategic clients be it SME’s, Corporates or Individuals across the full customer experience chain of claims, settlement and renewals where deemed necessary.4. Maintaining a strong, relevant network and industry presence on behalf of the General Business.4. Effectively manage direct reports across all key managerial duties such as appraisal reviews for Agents and Unit Managers, training, coaching and feed into Group Head of Retail General Business and HR on any resource or efficiency gaps and advise on corrective fixes.5. Ensure Business development, market launch, regulatory compliance and overall performance management of the General suite of products and services.
