Analyze and gather requirements for software development projects. Design, develop, and implement automation solutions. Assist in the development and deployment of complex solutions having to do with a commercial off the shelf (COTS) enterprise application. I analyzed and documented business and system requirements for the creation of service requests through an enterprise asset management software system named Maximo; created flowcharts based on the gathered requirements; created and implemented workflows to route those service requests through a series of conditional statements. Have been creating reports in BIRT and publishing them to our asset management system. I work with managers as well as project teams to understand and define customer requirements; I meet with customers to refine those requirements and implement whatever portion of the project is assigned to me in an iterative and timely manner – always keeping the customer informed of the progress.

Analyzed business requirements for various projects, ranging from simple reports to complex multi-tier projects. Much of my work involved working with databases at the back end; mostly SQL 2005, some MS Access, and open source databases such as Firebird. Maintaining software that was developed in-house as well as software purchased from outside vendors was one of my responsibilities. I designed and developed software solutions working closely with end users ensuring that they became an integral part in the development process. Many of the solutions I developed or modified were web based such as ASP.NET, HTML, PHP, and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS). I developed solutions using Visual Studio for the .NET Framework but many of the projects had to do with maintaining or migrating legacy applications and implementing commercial off-the-shelf products (COTS). I designed databases, created stored procedures, and created and deployed SSIS packages using the tools provided by SQL Server BIDS

Evaluated business requirements and architecture for a project that involved migrating a legacy application to the .Net framework (maintaining this major software system became one of my responsibilities). Applications I developed include: a program to process early ballot requests at remote (satellite) locations; a web service application; a program to process online early ballot requests; a user control to view images stored in binary format inside our Sybase database or located in a shared directory as TIF files; web applications in ASP.NET with AJAX controls. In addition to software development I was responsible for researching best practices and patterns for enterprise applications and service oriented architecture. The online ballot request application was a team effort where my contribution to this particular project was implementing the business logic of the solution making it accessible as a web service through .NET Remoting that was later upgraded to WCF (Windows Communication Foundation).
