Proposed, developed, and co-taught the graduate seminar, "Literary Citizenship: Teaching Writing for Social Change." The first its kind at the university, this course sits at the intersection of writing, teaching, and social justice. It prepares students to become exceptional teachers and stewards of community stories and voices. It asks: How do we harness and share the power of the writing process in diverse communities? How do we use it as a vehicle for both education and transformation? What career paths exist for writers who want to teach beyond the walls of the university? Each student was paired with a nonprofit organization and offered a series of free writing workshops to its clients and constituents, putting pedagogy into practice.

The mission of Prizer Arts & Letters is to exhibit socially-engaged art and literature, foster dialogue and pollinate creativity. Prizer believes in art as a vital channel for social change and offers free creativity workshops for people of all ages. As Co-Director, I launched the website, led the Creativity Room, assisted in curation, and broadened Prizer's community engagement/outreach work into historically underserved communities.In the words of one artist, "This space provides authentic care of visitors and the capacity to create social healing through creativity." —Caro d'Offay
