As a web designer, I see the industry through a different lens than my peers as I've spent over a decade as a professional fashion designer for well-known fashion brands. Simply put, I’m an expert at transposing a brand’s essence into fresh, modern designs while maintaining their message, personality, and style. I understand the influence visual elements have on customer perception, and the value of an intuitive user experience. Further, I know the importance of skill development: I have an insatiable desire to learn, and I learn quickly.My role as a fashion designer was to design aspirational lifestyle apparel for women. Specializing in cut-and-sew knits and loungewear, I was an accomplished designer at Calvin Klein Jeans, with my designs being featured in brand ads across all media channels, styled on influencer models like Kendall Jenner, and selling millions of units worldwide. The department I led was the most profitable of the label, where we developed thousands of on-trend knit tees, tanks, sweats, and dresses, and produced dozens of seasonal collections for Calvin Klein stores, Macy’s, and countless other retailers. I collaborated on several trend and color presentations, conducted numerous private Product Lifestyle Management (PLM) software trainings for associates, and regularly worked with fabric and trim vendors, color and trend services, and overseas garment factories for product management. Yet I yearned to connect with the end user of my designs, and the day I created a website for my side hustle, I knew investing in tech skills could open up a new world of limitless possibilities. Today I working full time as a web designer for Resi, while I continue to build on my skills. I completed the Visual Design and Front End Developer programs at Skillcrush coding school. I also completed online trainings in website builder, Showit. Further, I have an Associate’s in Fashion Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology and a Bachelor’s in Fashion Design from SUNY Oneonta.My future aspirations are to continue expanding my tech skills in UI/UX Design, business management, digital marketing, and SEO. I'm eager to continue exploring best-practices in web design and evolving technologies with equally passionate teams I can grow with.
