Being the Team Lead of the Training & Development Department, I am accountable for developing instructional learning material and delivering training using a variety of adult learning principals. I develop hybrid training materials using a variation of virtual and live training, micro-learning videos, pre-recorded video trainings as well as facilitate blended learning and breakout sessions. I also work to identify gaps and needs for continued employee training by seeking feedback from subject matter experts across the organization. This helps with proactive learning that will benefit all employees. I am also passionate and strive to deliver a solid, well organized Onboarding experience for all new and returning employees. It is critical that new hires feel in control and as confident as possible when starting a new role within the company. Creating an Onboarding Schedule, with the order of events being very planned and with time given to get a solid base and understanding of the role/department sets the employee up for success from the very beginning.

Assist with the management of the financial life cycle for large case Employee Benefits Group Life and Health clients.  Responsible for providing analytical functions and pricing for mid-size to large benefit clients, specifically in the areas of renewal analysis, negotiations and experience reporting. Also required to review, analyze and report on costings for benefit plan alternates for union negotiations and to complete renewal projections and support annual budgeting for client benefits programs.

Acted as the hands-on representative of the Human Resources department whose job is to help facilitate all basic Human Resources functions, in particular recruiting, on-boarding, benefits administration, maintenance of employee records, training etc. With diverse yet substantive job responsibilities, the Human Resources coordinator works with current employees, newly hired employees and returning employees and provides guidance and support to management. Managed all long term and short term disability claims, working closely with employees and benefits carrier to develop early and safe return to work programs suitable to the functionality of the employee.

Provided a wide variety of both complex and routine administrative services. Worked closely with staffing to ensure all facets of recruiting/on-boarding were administered throughout the organization and provided administrative support to other human resources functions as needed (e.g. generates correspondence, record-keeping, policy development, benefits administration). Facilitated day long training and development sessions on a quarterly basis, keeping the learning environment positive and engaging through employee participation and group activities. Successfully managed all job fair related tasks including advertisement, career booth set up and organization of Corporation information for talent acquisition.
