I'm a scientist, artist, and storyteller, with a passion for creative solutions to important problems. My personal expertise is in engineering and optimizing evolution, but I've got a long history of refusing to stick to one scientific field. I once read and summarized 350 scientific papers in a single week, and several members of my PhD committee said I had the funniest thesis defense they ever attended.I've also won awards for communicating research through interpretive dance, and I ran three historical reenactments (and counting) of the Scientific Revolution.Beyond that, I've been: mistaken for a museum tour guide in two countries, put in charge of special effects for four low-budget horror movies, and paid to sing at both weddings and musicology lectures.
