About Jan Glarum

I bring a history of excelling in innovative planning and response operations involving civilian and military clients. Over 40 years of experience in the fields of EMS, Fire, Law Enforcement, Hospital, Public Health, and Emergency Management, including response to federally declared disasters. Experience includes an extensive background in planning, training, education and response at the local, county, regional, state and federal government levels, including Department of Defense initiatives CONUS and OCONUS. I have co-authored several books including Biosecurity and Bioterrorism, Hospital Emergency Response Teams, Pandemic Influenza- Community Planning and most recently completed Healthcare Disaster Incident Management Operations Guide. A Train-the-trainer course is available for using this new Operations Guide to teach HICS and the IAP process in-house. My first novel, Thunderbird and Whale was published in January of 2019. I am a Department of Defense validated medical CBRNE Subject Matter Expert, HSEEP qualified, and an ICS 300-400 instructor. I am a founding member of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and led new course development, instructor development and provided instruction at the Federal Government’s Center for Domestic Preparedness.I am a frequent speaker for EMS, Fire, Law Enforcement, Hospital and Public Health audiences. I'm passionate about helping clients address their most challenging needs through innovative solutions. I'm very interested in relocating to the Seattle greater area.
