After leaving Dallas for graduate school in Chicago, I transitioned to online private tutoring services, continuing to specialize in the SAT and ACT. I typically work with 10-15 students a year and have helped more than 50 students during my time as an independent private tutor. All of my private tutoring engagements are through word-of-mouth referrals, which speaks to my investment in my students and the quality of my instruction. My initial experience as a private tutor came with Scholastic Success, an educational services company based out of Dallas, TX. I worked with more than 20 students during this time, primarily providing in-home SAT and ACT instruction for high school students. I also assisted students with schoolwork and exam preparation for academic subjects such as calculus and quantitative genetics.

At Thinkful, I leveraged my professional data science and teaching experience to support the development and maintenance of Thinkful's Data Science and Data Analytics programs in a part-time role. I was originally brought in as a curriculum writer for Thinkful's full-time Data Science Immersion program; over the course of my engagement with Thinkful, I branched out to supporting several other programs and functions related to curriculum development. My contributions included:❖ Developing the classroom curriculum for the clustering module of the full-time Data Science Immersion program from beginning-to-end: course outline, lecture slides (including images and instructor notes), and exercises❖ Revising and improving existing lecture slides and exercises for a variety of machine learning topics: linear and logistic regression, KNN, decision trees and tree ensembles, and deep learning❖ Creating coding challenges and other various assessments (e.g. multiple-choice quizzes) through qualified.io from beginning-to-end: dataset identification, exercise development, and unit testing❖ Content creation (written lessons) and peer review for large-scale update of Data Analytics program❖ Image and video development for two new programs (AI Fundamentals and AI For Data Analytics): image mockups, video scripting, etc.Note: my contract work for Thinkful/Chegg has as been "as needed" and has taken place over the following time periods:October 2019 - November 2021June 2023 - December 2023

Opex Analytics was an advanced analytics firm based out of Evanston and Chicago that specialized in using both data science and operations research to solve complex supply chain problems. It was acquired in late 2019 by Llamasoft, but remained a separate business unit until the acquisition of Llamasoft by Coupa in late 2020. During my time at Opex, I applied my data science, engineering, and visualization expertise to a variety of business problems (usually in client-facing roles) :❖ Developed several internal client-facing tools using Python, SQL Server, and PowerBI for a Fortune Global 500 client:• Automated root cause analytics for unfulfilled sales orders, reducing manual root cause coding efforts by 100+ man-hours per week and increasing accuracy of assigned root causes• Portfolio-wide product segmentation, enabling more efficient production planning and targeted benchmarking • Raw material forecast generation, leading to more efficient inventory management and reduced production delays at third-party manufacturers❖ Conceptualized and built a suite of PowerBI visualizations that tracked a wide range of publicly available COVID-19 statistics and forecasts (part of a broader Llamasoft offering tailored to the COVID-19 pandemic)❖ Built predictive models in Python for demand forecasting and lead time prediction while supporting proof-of-concept sales efforts❖ Created and presented substantial educational content (both internal and client-facing) on a variety of data science topics, ranging from basic SQL to modern techniques for interpreting black-box models

At Nielsen, I worked on the "buy"-side data science methods team as a summer intern. Over the course of my full-time summer internship, I:❖ Developed an iterative outlier detection and imputation algorithm using density-based clustering techniques and a custom data normalization function❖ Identified and corrected outlier records of third-party sales data by applying newly developed algorithm, improving overall integrity and validity of high-usage data that fed into customer-facing products❖ Created an interactive dashboard suite that illustrated outlier characteristics across several sales-related dimensions and overall impact of outlier imputation in R (Shiny)

At Kohl's, I supported several business functions within risk management operations: forecasting, challenger strategy implementation and monitoring, risk model validation, exploratory data analysis, and compliance risk event resolution. Using a variety of tools, I:❖ Improved rigor and accuracy of several strategy implementation processes on the First Data platform by developing new SAS-based validation methodologies and internal review procedures❖ Optimized SAS queries and redesigned Excel templates for multiple forecasting reports, reducing both manual updating errors and total monthly processing time by up to 80%❖ Refined decision logic and portfolio allocation of multiple collections strategies in production, impacting the treatment of several thousand accounts per month

I was brought in as an independent consultant after being referred by a former professor to the marketing department at Methodist, which sought guidance on how to use Tableau effectively for data analysis and visualization purposes. Over the course of several sessions, I:❖ Trained members of the management team in the fundamentals of Tableau❖ Analyzed data from a specific set of service lines in order to identify marketing and related business opportunities❖ Collaborated with a senior marketing executive to clean and import data, apply appropriate data analysis techniques, and create clear and informative visualizations in Tableau
