Hello ! I am Abhay Kumar Prusty, a passionate and driven third-year undergraduate student at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Kolkata, pursuing an BS-MS dual degree in Physics with a minor in Astronomy. My academic journey is fueled by a deep interest in understanding the cosmos, and I’ve consistently applied my knowledge through hands-on research. I am highly interested in Space Sustaintibility and Debris Managment but did not get a chance to work into.During my summer internship at @IIT Bhilai, I worked on reconstructing the Milky Way's formation history using Gaia DR3 data, where I analyzed the orbits, kinematics, and metallicity of nearly 5.59 million stars. This work has given me unique insights into the evolution of our galaxy, contributing to my broader understanding of stellar history.Beyond my academic endeavors, I actively engage in citizen science projects with platforms like Zooniverse, where I explore variable stars and analyze supernova data. I am also a space science blogger at Infinity Cosmos, where I share my passion for space exploration and technology with a wider audience. Some of my notable writings include topics like the Northern Lights, the Aditya-L1 mission, and Falcon 9.In addition to my research and writing, I contribute to the Astroflux student community and serve as the Chief Coordinator of the Astronomy department at ScienceOverse. Here, I lead webinars and discussions on space science topics, fostering a collaborative environment for students interested in astronomy.I am intermediate in Python, C, ADQL(Astronomical SQL), and Astropy, and I have experience with tools like Astrometrica for asteroid detection.
