The main projects being:- Designed and developed a laboratory-scale wind tunnel with variable flow speed and turbulence conditions. - Conducted a detailed experimental study of the local burning characteristics of boundary layer flames under varying turbulent conditions. - Developed a mixed-convection parameter for characterizing laminar and turbulent wind-driven flames established over a condensed fuel surface. - Determined the suitability of Reynolds Analogy to boundary layer flames stabilized under turbulent crossflow conditions.- Developed a unified local mass burning rate correlation for mixed-convection boundary layer flames useful in evaluating the flame strength in hazardous conditions.- A comparative study on the flame behavior of sooting and non-sooting fuels burning as buoyant diffusion flames. These experiments were focused on quantifying the performance of a shock absorber under varying environmental conditions. This work also involved a detailed understanding of the fluid flow within the shock absorber. It was carried out for six different models already in circulation for OEMs and aftermarket.- Reduction of chip-size during piston rod manufacturing. This project required an understanding of the functioning of the CNC machine used for machining of the piston rods. Also, various inserts were procured and tested for the best results. An overall improvement was achieved in terms of both reduced chip-size and longer tool life, reducing the downtime. Show less
