As a project coordinator with my NGO, I have been involved in the following activities for three years:• Continuing the Green Belt Development Program at MPL (Maithon Power Limited), Maithon, Nirsha, Dhanbad, for the last three years, focusing on planting indigenous varieties of non-timber forest plants.• Organizing awareness programs in the local area to emphasize the importance of plantation and forestation.• Training local women in making crafts from bamboo, straw, and jute.• Providing a resource person for training and raw materials to the women.• Purchasing all finished goods from the women for a certain time to support their marketing efforts.These efforts aimed to control pollution caused by thermal power and to establish natural biodiversity in the area, while also generating income for poor families.
