Led and managed multiple industrial and federal projects focused on developing new polymeric materials for coatings, personal care industry, optics, and photonics. Worked on projects involving polyesters, polyurethanes, silylated polyurethanes, silicone based polymers and hyperbranched polymers. Project Highlights:•Developed additives for low/zero VOC paints based on MMI’s patented hyperbranched polyesters. The materials exceeded the benchmark performance parameters to improve the “Open Time” and “antifoaming property” of the waterborne paints. License agreement for this technology with a large corporation is at an advance stage.•Directed and managed a large multiyear US Department of Defense project to design and synthesize new polysiloxane based photonics materials for laser protection resulting in several issued and applied patents on this technology. Successfully fabricated devices based on the technology. The technology is presently field-tested by a large defense contractor for US Army.•Led a US Air Force sponsored project on development of polymeric materials for photonics applications.•Led R&D efforts for polymer-based material for water purification, cosmetics and personal care for various industrial corporations.•Led a US Army sponsored project on development of cathode membranes for Li-air battery.•Experience leading successful product and/or program development initiatives from concept to launch•Experience working with cross-functional and multi-disciplinary teams as a technical expert in the area of new product development

Worked in a multidisciplinary research team in the Depts. of Chemistry, Physics and Material Science. Project Highlights:•Performed multistep syntheses to prepare macrocycles with aromatic, heteroaromatic and conjugated triple bonds.•Set up Nd-YAG laser system for Z-scan measurement (for second order NLO properties) and performed measurements

My responsibilities include:•Collaborate with Professors and Scientists at various National laboratories (such as, Tsukuba Science City) and Universities (such as, Tokyo Institute of Technology) while conducting research on Organic photonics materials.•Served as a co-supervisor to several masters and graduate students’ project works.

Design, synthesis, and characterization of conjugated monomers and polymers for nonlinear optical (NLO) materials.

•Design, synthesis, and characterization of novel electrically conducting polymer for photovoltaic cells.

•Successfully completed projects aimed at improving rubber chemicals in an industrial R&D environment.
