Accountable for entire project from start till end. Successful troubleshooting including analysis of evidence, investigating root cause of failure, identifying & implementing corrective measure to resolve the issues to management’s satisfaction. a) Circumferential Welding Seam failure in terms of Offset.: This was on account of distortions more than expected on account of high thermal coefficient of expansion & low thermal conductivity. This made us aware of scientific reasons behind why it is necessary to tack weld the joint at lower pitch.b) Failure of jacket welding in RVPD: It was found that closure ring welding was cracked. During rectification, while welding of jacket to closure ring, cold cracking was observed. Reason being unequal cross-sectional areas. Pre-heating of high cross section area resolved the issue successfully.c) Cracking of dished ends during cold forming: Location of failure was in the area which was the junction of crown & knuckle area (area of highest stress). Hard stamping, done on the plate for identification, resulted into stress raisers and was the point initiation of cracks while cold forming.d) Poor performance of agitator (by others): It was found that geometric parameters were not in line with requirements. Rectification, done based on QAP developed in-house, resolved all issues & modification done to client’s satisfaction.
