    My doctoral research work involves the development of new in vitro and in silico tools for studying gap junction channels. The in vitro Lab-on-a-Chip device required proficiency in micro-device design, process design, microfabrication, device microstructure and impedance characterization, and micro-device packaging. Final device functionality and application involved cell-culture, confocal microscopy, signal-processing and electrophysiological analysis. The in silico tool consisted of an approximated 3D-mathematical model of a gap junction pore with dye-particles-interaction simulated using Brownian dynamics equation.
