Battling with the inner self (common with individuals coming from conservative thoughts and backgrounds), I decided to cross the bar and take a plunge to reinvent and re-structure my abilities as an entrepreneur and started to facilitate for companies that required discretionary focus in areas of sales re-engineering using newer techniques, methods, process, team selection and training. During this tenure, I have been associating with organisations in hospitality, real estate, retail, IT and ITES. So, what did I learn? • Taking ownership was the single most potent learning outcome. Spearheaded by the singular aim of successfully procuring and delivering contracts, I learnt to take onus for every action and decision - rejoicing on the correct and reflecting on the wrong ones. • In an unbiased way, learning to engage and get involved with every business activity (big or small) that I come across with wholehearted commitment and sincerity. • Applying Blue Ocean Strategy to my work gave me the opportunity to look for businesses where my work experienced less competition (though with higher challenges) because these are niche services and the paradigm shift in the solutions it required offered – approachable, achievable doable and result oriented. This helped to easily transition from ‘market competition’ to ‘market creation’.
