About Abhinav Anup

Abhinav Anup joined Simpson Gumpertz & Heger Inc. (SGH) in July 2012 shortly after receiving his Master’s degree from Stanford University. He has considerable experience in seismic fragility and seismic margin evaluations of nuclear power plant structures, systems, and components. In this capacity, he has been involved in seismic probabilistic risk assessment (SPRA) studies for several nuclear plants around the world. His technical expertise includes finite element analysis, seismic structure response analysis, seismic soil-structure interaction analysis, and linear and nonlinear seismic evaluations of structures, systems, and components. He is also experienced in seismic walkdowns for earthquake experience-based evaluations. Recently, he has applied his experience in the nuclear SPRA industry to seismic risk assessment of commercial facilities. Since 2017, he has been an Associate Member on the ASCE Task Committee on Dynamic Analysis of Nuclear Structures, contributing to the continual development of the ASCE 4 and ASCE 43 Nuclear Standards.
