Evomo’s SAAVAJ is like Google’s Project Ara for rural transportation: an ultra low-cost and modular utility vehicle that’s optimized for poorly-maintained roads.The SAAVAJ has a lightweight frame, and can switch between ferrying passengers and carry cargo. We’ve designed the powertrain to be easily removed for other uses like water pumping, agricultural processing, and electricity generation. Evomo is incubated by National Institute of Design (NID) Ahmedabad and Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad. Our vehicles will be manufactured in franchised microfactories, and these factories can be shipped off to a new region once the local market is saturated. We will likely use QR codes or some similar technology to keep track of new vehicles and maintain quality control in our franchises. Modern digital fabrication (specifically,laser cutters) has made distributed manufacturing a viable option for semi-automated industries. Similar to McDonalds, our headquarters will take care of product development, supply chains, quality management, and training/equipping our franchise personnel in microfactories.

Study of Vehicle Dynamics Characteristics on wet roads and their effects on road safety. This Project has been initiated by NATRiP (National Automotive Testing and R&D Infrastructure project) and iCAT and approved and funded by Govt. of India (Ministry of shipping, Road transport and safety). The main objective of this project is to study the critical effects of vehicle dynamics characteristics on wet roads and their contributions to road accidents. 1. To analyze and interpret raw data from sensors (like GYRO, RV4, WPT, HT-250, SF II P, MSW etc.) which has been gained during vehicle performance test on Wet and Dry road at VRDE (Vehicle R & D Establishment).2. To write Project report for ministry and also to write Research paper for journals (ABS and its effectiveness). The results have been published in SIAT 2009 (Symposium on International Automotive Technology), SAE Paper No. 2009-026-010. 3. Simulation of Real time vehicle (different classes) performance to judge the threshold points of vehicle stability on Indian wet roads on softwares like CarSim and CarMaker.
