Travel technologies primarily focused on hotels to help with distribution using both online and offline channels. Created ARConnect, India's first hotel channel manager.The main challanges overcome were:1) How to mimic two way connectivity with all partner travel websites (Cleartrip/Expedia/Makemytrip etc.).2) Maintain a scalable and resilient server architecture to be Highly Available and Consistent. A pub/sub system for inter node communication.3) How to cache data so that minimum communication is required with partner websites.4) A Job Queue which is fast to process inventory/price updates asynchronously. Dividing the work load among alive nodes.5) Develop a request response architecture which can be applied to all websites with minor modifications.6) Design a JSON based API to connect to many partners and Property Management Systems.Apart from overcoming these technical challenges some other product level methodologies were adopted to enhance user experience.1) Creating a dashboard like view of the product and all important features so that the user can perform routine functions easily and is not forced to remember many flows.2) All flows were developed with similar interface so that user can easily operate them, proper error reporting and information messages to guide the user.3) SEO of the product so that it is easily found by any prospective customer.
