Problem 1 - As a podcast listener, I find it hard to discover new podcasts based on reviews of specific podcast episodes as most podcast reviews give you a general overview of the entire podcast and not an understanding of the nuance of discussion in each episode. Problem 2 - As a podcast listener, I also find it challenging to share my podcast listening experience with friends and family because I have no way to archive and share my thoughts on all the podcast episodes I have listened to in the last few years. Solution- I started Podshare as an online community for podcast lovers, that aims to become a platform for people to discover new podcast episodes, review old podcast episodes and archive your podcast listening experience. Problem 1 - India has an estimated 160000 public libraries but there is a lack of transparent data on books and staffing for these institutions. Problem 2 - India has an estimated 140000000 people and a certain percentage of this large population would have access to private home libraries. We have no data on private home libraries. Most Indians today buy books to read rather than borrow books to read. This limits access to ideas and knowledge based on access to funds. We can tap into this private home library network around the country to give children and adults an opportunity to access a wide variety of books in their neighbourhood from trusted sources. Solution - I started Bookbond as an online community that aims to collate data and spread awareness about the Public Library Infrastructure in India and aims to create a new online network of Private Home Libraries in cities and villages that can give people in India access to a wide variety of books in their immediate neighbourhoods. • I was hired by the Faculty of Education at Western University to work on the Curriculum Innovation Research team in this position. • The Curriculum Innovation Research Team, including both Graduate Students and current Teacher Candidates, will collaboratively review the Bachelor of Education program between April and July 2021, looking for opportunities to incorporate key principles, develop cross-curricular collaboration, enact instructor ideas and more. • My role involved reviewing and analyzing the courses 5424, 5240, 5244, 5208 using the Coursetune software and reporting tool. • My role also involved working on special projects that included analysing the readings assigned through the course, creating learning criteria for the instructors, editing the practicum reports and identifying the presence of Social Justice and Equity concepts in coursework across the program.

• I was hired by the Faculty of Media Studies at Western University to work on the Surviving Memory in Postwar El Salvador project in this position. • The Surviving Memory in Postwar El Salvador collaborative research initiative is an international partnership of survivors, scholars, artists, lawyers, museums, architects, community organizers, and municipal governments who are committed to documenting the history of the Salvadoran Civil War (1980-1992) and preventing future violence. • My role in this project is to create educational guides and conduct archival research on media representation and reporting of the civil war in El Salvador from 1980 to 1992. • I was supervised by one of the project coordinators and an associate professor at Western University, Dr. Amanda Gryzb.

• Supported the associate teacher in a mixed-age Level 1 English Literacy Development class and a Communication Design class. • The students were from a refugee background and it was vital to implement a trauma-informed approach that provided basic instruction and scaffolded practice tasks that developed their language and literacy levels. • We conferenced individually with students. We created a welcome card for the school that incorporated their individual skills in different languages. • Spent one-week creating support and guidance resources for the ESL/ELD department related to the Fountas & Pinnell Leveled Literacy Intervention (LLI) system and the picture books used for general instruction.

In this role, I was a Support Worker for VON’s Special Services at Home Program (SSAH) that provides personalized support for children with developmental and/or physical disabilities, 17 years of age and younger. The program is intended to support the growth and development of children and also provides meaningful respite to family caregivers.
