Research Project: “Publishing Humanities Arguments in a Digital World: A Case Study in Hybrid Print/Web Strategies” (UCARE team project)Worked with my team to enhance, clean, program, and analyze a comprehensive dataset on early Greek archaeology and historiography keyed to my faculty advisor Dr. Sarah Murray’s monograph The Collapse of the Mycenaean Economy: Trade, Imports, and Social Change with an eye to moving towards a revolution in the way that humanists come to consensus about particular areas of inquiry. This project was designed to investigate one possible avenue to increasing the impact of traditional humanistic monographs in an increasingly digital world, in a way that simultaneously solves some traditional problems in the intractable nature of debates in humanities research. In order to do this we designed a data-rich website that could be used in tandem with the monograph to investigate how to best encourage open debate outside of the basic step of providing digital editions of books, or the radical one of replacing books with websites.
