A Fortune 500 multinational Indian company with diverse portfolios owning and operating the world’s largest crude oil refinery, The Jamnagar Refinery Division, with a daily processing capacity of 1.24 million barrels of crude oil. • Worked in the refinery as a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer in the Alkylation plant under the Reliability Engineering and Asset Management Department. • Planned and managed various mechanical maintenance of static and rotary refinery equipment for optimal plant operation. • Managed a team of 5 maintenance workers for the safe and timely execution of mechanical maintenance jobs reducing equipment time to repair (MTTR) and enhancing equipment time between failure (MTBF), thereby achieving high equipment availability. • Worked and coordinated with different engineering departments such as electrical, instrumentation, and operations for smooth completion of preventive and predictive maintenance jobs to keep equipment and plant downtime to a minimum. • Processed hazard identifications and task-based risk assessments while creating work permits for over 1000 maintenance jobs. • Supervised and coordinated with multiple contractor companies to successfully fabricate, hydro test, and replace several corroded sample station piping carrying Alkylate products of the plant, ensuring product sample purity and avoiding any product leakage (avoiding major financial, asset and personnel loss). • Mapped 500+ maintenance components to the company’s ERP Platform (SAP) by generating SAP Codes.• Identified the cause and suggested a modification to rectify a product pump seal leakage issue, thereby considerably saving critical pump downtime and reducing future maintenance frequencies and costs.
