As Miss Apple Festival 2024, I proudly represent our community as the first Black individual to hold this title in the pageant’s 73-year history. In this role, I am committed to celebrating our local heritage while amplifying the values of unity, resilience, and equity.Throughout my reign, I will actively participate in various volunteer initiatives, attending fundraisers and events for children, where I aim to bring joy and inspiration to our young ones. My involvement extends to multiple community service projects, where I work alongside local organizations to uplift and support those in need. From providing resources for underprivileged families to promoting educational initiatives, I am dedicated to making a meaningful impact.Being the first Black Miss Apple Festival, I am committed to serving as a beacon of light for my community, advocating for self-reliance, equity, and inclusion. My goal is to inspire others, especially those from underrepresented backgrounds, to chase their dreams and break through barriers. Through my work, I hope to foster a stronger sense of belonging and opportunity for everyone, paving the way for a more inclusive future.

As the inaugural Miss Juneteenth of Southern Illinois, I dedicated my year to fostering community engagement, promoting cultural awareness, inspiring the next generation, and being a beacon of light for underrepresented communities. My duties included:Community Outreach: Volunteering at local events, reading to children, and participating in parades to connect with the community and spread the message of Juneteenth.Educational Initiatives: Serving as the Mistress of Ceremony for the NAACP Freedom Fund banquet and attending various Juneteenth events to share my knowledge and experience.Youth Empowerment: Reading poems and engaging in meaningful conversations with elders and young people to bridge generations and inspire future leaders.Business Development: Representing Miss Juneteenth at business expos to promote the pageant and foster partnerships within the community. Also, being the first-ever Miss Juneteenth of Southern IL, I assisted my pageant director with planning events and appearances.Through these efforts, I aimed to uplift the spirit of Juneteenth and create a lasting impact on the Southern Illinois region.
