Teaching guided reading and math skills to 3-4 grade students with both mental and emotional disabilities. Conceptually focussed instruction and practice for students who could not meet academic benchmarks in a small group setting. My responsibilities included teaching daily guided reading lesson plans using Jan Richardson's methods for transitional readers, recording progress notes and instruction focus for each child daily, focussed practice with appropriate leveled sight words, picking up students from classrooms, some bus duty for special needs students, classroom assistance in general education classroom during allotted times. Re-directing students with emotional challenges for optimal educational success!

Assistance for students with special needs in the regular classroom. I worked with reading and math skills within the classroom for both 2nd grade and 4 grade students. Some one on one instruction for students with emotional disabilities when needed for their success in mastering skills. Also, performed various artistic jobs needed by teachers as a volunteer,including a recycled material mural and various bulletin board displays. Morning hallway duty and escorting special needs students to class daily.
