ClimBucknell is a student-led organization that operates the university-owned challenge course (which includes high and low ropes at and a climbing wall). As a student facilitator, I have been trained in hard skills (using equipment correctly and following proper procedures) as well as in soft skills (how to effectively lead a group and help them reach their goals). I have led groups of four to fifty individuals, with participants as young as seventeen and as old as sixty toward goals of improved communication, group trust, creativity, and personal growth.

As a stage manager for the Theatre & Dance department, I am involved in technical rehearsals and actual performances: capturing the directions of faculty and guest artists; managing other students; coordinating with the Weis Center for the Performing Arts staff; and calling cues for sound, lights, and curtains. I have stage managed the Bucknell Dance Company Spring Concerts in 2015 and 2016 in the Weis Center for the Performing Arts.

A research-based course in which students culture and isolate bacteriophage from soil samples. The bacteriophage are sequenced and students are responsible for annotating and characterizing the genome for submission. Learned basic microbiological techniques as well as basic bioinformatics and genomics.

Summer research intern working on a project concerning GPRC6A, a protein with potential connections to osteoporosis. Skills acquired during this time:Western BlotSite-Directed MutagenesisI presented this research at the 6th Annual Susquehanna Valley Research Symposium and received the Outstanding Abstract Competition & Speakers Award in Translational Research.
