About Abby Hellmann Callaghan

I know I should mention my skills here, but how about a flaw instead? I fundamentally cannot write an “about” section. I’m a graphic designer, what did you expect? That said, I love a challenge so let’s see if I can leave an impression on you. At the heart of who I am, I want to create positive impact in the world. I believe that design has the power to spread empathy and change minds, which is why I became drawn to it. Luckily, I get to fulfill this at my current 9-5, working with people who believe in creating good and living with purpose. Outside of the office, I am a former figure skater turned current rock climber. Yes, I’m a little competitive. But when I’m not trying to win, I’m eager to learn. As a serial hobbyist, who knows a little about a lot, I promise we can find something we have in common. When I graduated in 2020, I didn’t know if I should be on the job hunt, continuing my education, or just remaining in bed 6 feet away from my remote - a distance that seems small, but is really far away. I was privileged enough to be able to pursue a master’s degree, where my eyes were opened to conceptual thinking, experiential design, and the idea of designing for all life. Today, I continue to explore and learn, with an eagerness to put good things into the world. Now that you’ve read all that, I am positive you understand why I’m not a writer, and I am hopeful you see why I am a graphic designer. I’d love to get to know you! Reach out.
